Ubisoft Expands Its Reach in the Blockchain World With New NFT Avatars for The Sandbox
Assassin’s Creed maker Ubisoft is expanding its reach in the blockchain world with a new set of NFT avatars for the metaverse game The Sandbox. Avatars from the Netflix animated series “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix”, which mashes up characters and franchises from Ubisoft’s history, will be released. The collection includes renditions of classic Ubisoft action hero Rayman, as well as Jade and Pey’j, heroes of the cult classic game Beyond Good & Evil. The mint is scheduled for November 29, though it’s not yet known how much The Sandbox and Ubisoft will charge for the avatars. Ubisoft has been active in the Web3 world for years, most recently announcing plans to do a free Ethereum NFT drop around its upcoming Champions Tactics game. This is a continuation of the publisher’s ongoing blockchain moves, which include in-game Tezos NFT items in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and Rabbids as Reddit NFT avatars.
This is great news for fans of the Ubisoft franchises, and is an indication that the publisher is continuing to embrace the blockchain world, which can open up new opportunities for gamers. #Ubisoft #NFT #Avatars #TheSandbox #Blockchain
