The National Hockey League (NHL) has launched NHL Breakaway, an NFT collectibles platform created in collaboration with the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA), National Hockey League Alumni Association (NHLAA), and crypto startup Sweet. It allows fans to collect, gift, trade and display digital collectibles of NHL highlights from players such as Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, and Alexander Ovechkin. The platform is based on real video highlights from the league and minted on Polygon, an Ethereum scaling network. Furthermore, NHL Breakaway is offering a Series 1 starter pack containing six NFT collectibles, priced at $19 for the pack.
