Newly released sci-fi actioner Phantom Galaxies puts you in the cockpit of a mecha on the galactic frontier, where the Ranger Squadron does battle with three vicious pirate factions in a fight to keep the universe safe. You’ll need to keep your wits about you as you engage in high-intensity combat both on the ground and in space, switching between your mecha and shipforms. Through a story-driven campaign, PvE bounties, and PvP multiplayer combat, you’ll customize and upgrade your starfighter to suit your play style.
Phantom Galaxies is a free-to-play game with blockchain integration that enables players to truly own in-game items and property. It has two different versions available to play in Early Access: the Web3-enabled version direct from Blowfish Studios and on the Epic Games Store, or a non-Web3 version on Steam. To get started, players must connect their Web3 wallet and generate their access code. They can then customize their character and enter the game proper, exploring the Halberd-001 space station and interacting with characters between missions.
The game is played with a mouse and keyboard (the final version will include gamepad support). Players control their starfighter in outer space, using energy beams, ballistic weapons, and guided missiles, as well as their starfighter’s Ultimate ability. They can also switch between their starfighter’s ship and mecha forms. In ground combat, they’re limited to their mecha form. Players can also mine asteroids for minerals or crystals to upgrade equipment.
Players can access PvE bounty challenges through terminals on the Halberd-001, and take part in multiplayer battles and “Community Clash” events in the PvP arena.
