BlackRock has released a filing for a Spot Bitcoin ETF that surprisingly includes exposure to stablecoins under its “risk factors.” This filing provides an interesting development for the entire digital asset sector which is anxiously awaiting the potential approval of the offering. In the document, BlackRock had stated that its exposure to stablecoins like Tether USD (USDT) and Circle USD (USDC) is a risk to Bitcoin. The asset manager notes that the market value of the asset may fluctuate and that it is “impossible to know all of the risks they could pose to participants in the Bitcoin market.” This echoes similar remarks from US regulators, who have called the dollar-pegged crypto a financial risk. #BlackRock #Stablecoins #BitcoinETF #DigitalAssetRisks
