HSBC, one of the world’s leading banking institutions, has announced a partnership with Metaco, a tech firm owned by Ripple, to introduce an institutional custody platform for tokenized securities. This new service is set to be launched in 2024 and is in line with HSBC’s existing digital asset issuance platform, HSBC Orion, and its gold tokenization solution. This move is in response to the increasingly demand for custody and fund administration of digital assets from asset managers and asset owners. Metaco’s Harmonize platform will enable secure and unified operations for digital assets. Last week, HSBC reported a successful trial of tokenized deposits with Ant Group, and earlier this year its Hong Kong division launched Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. #HSBC #Metaco #Tokenization #DigitalAssets
