Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently spoke at the AI Safety Summit in Bletchley Park, proclaiming artificial intelligence (AI) to be “the most disruptive force in history.” Musk believes that AI will eventually replace the need for humans to work, allowing for a universal high income. However, AI researchers, like Mustafa Suleyman of DeepMind, disagree with Musk, saying that it’s still too early to say AI will replace humans. At the summit, 29 countries and the European Union signed the Bletchley Declaration, which discussed the importance of regulating AI. Generative AI, which uses prompts to generate images, text, music, and video, has been used to create deepfakes, leading to calls for guardrails to prevent the spread of misinformation. Suleyman believes that “we need good governance” and regulations in order to navigate the age of AI. #AISafety #ElonMusk #GenerativeAI #DeepMind
