As AI-generated porn becomes more advanced, adult film performers are calling for more protections against the unauthorized use of their likenesses and fair compensation for their content. Legendary adult performer and head of Star Factory PR, Tanya Tate, has experienced the rise of artificial intelligence and deepfakes and notes that fans would visit a free pirate site instead of a legitimate one. Generative AI refers to AI models that use prompts to create images, videos, text, and music. AI porn offers unlimited possibilities using text-to-image tools or face-swapping technology. AI deepfakes have been used to put world leaders in fake sexual encounters and create realistic AI sexbots and companions. Not all porn stars are resisting the technology; some are partnering with AI developers to create a Telegram chatbot. Fake actors, however, are another matter entirely. Tate said performers must be able to protect their content, image, and name, including going through the legal system for cease-and-desist and take-down orders. “We can’t compete with AI images of girls as these figures are ‘perfect’ in the viewer’s eyes,” Tate said. Tate began her adult film career in 2009 and advocates for free speech, privacy, and equal consideration for female performers in policymaking directed toward the adult industry. Outside of her work in PR and as a performer, Tate also asserted that AI must be leveraged for financial gain, and used as a valuable tool to enhance a performer’s career—not replace it. “If you have a favorite star, support them and interact with them on the different platforms,” she said. “And fight for our cause as well.”

The rise of AI in the adult industry has caused adult film performers to call for legal protection against the unauthorized use of their likenesses and fair compensation for their content. AI porn offers unlimited possibilities using text-to-image tools or face-swapping technology, creating realistic recreations of human beings. Not all porn stars are against the technology, some are partnering with AI developers to create a Telegram chatbot. However, fake actors pose a threat to the adult film industry as AI images are deemed ‘perfect’ in the viewer’s eyes. Tate has advocated for free speech, privacy, and equal consideration for female performers in policymaking directed toward the adult industry. AI should be leveraged for financial gain, and used as a valuable tool to enhance a performer’s career—not replace it. Fans are encouraged to support their favorite stars and fight for their cause. #AI #AdultFilmIndustry #PornPerformers #Deepfakes #Protections
