Starfield, the latest release from Bethesda’s Skyrim developer, has become the top best-selling premium game in dollar sales since its release on September 6. According to Circana data, Starfield was the top paid game last month, beating out Warner Bros. Games’ Mortal Kombat 1, EA Sports FC 24, and Madden NFL 24. Microsoft, which owns Xbox and Bethesda, confirmed that Starfield’s release was great for its business as it saw a 9% spike in revenue due to the game and a concurrent jump in Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. With 11 million people playing the game to date and Starfield being Bethesda’s biggest game launch of all time within 24 hours of its release, it is a major success. Bruce Nesmith, a former Bethesda game designer, stated that, as a new IP, it was more challenging than Skyrim or Fallout. Starfield is only available on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs and is currently sitting in 55th place in Steam’s top 100 bestselling games. It has also maintained an audience on Twitch, with around 1,300 concurrent viewers watching streamers play the title. #Starfield #Bethesda #Microsoft #Xbox #GamePass
